Randy Rhoads died tragically in a plane crash on March 19th 1982. Although he only recorded two mainstream studio albums, the impact he has had on me and thousands of other guitar players worldwide is truly remarkable. You can hear my versions of some of his solos on the audio page. My Tribute to a most remarkable musicain.

To learn more about Randy and talk with others about him, take a look at the approved Randy Rhoads message board that I help run. Just click on the banner below.

Ozzy described him as a "little giant". The kind of soul that lands on the planet
and bounces off in the blink of an eye but leaves an indelible impression on the Earth.
His life and career ended over 20 years ago but because of what he accomplished in just two short years, he will
live forever in the hearts of people who continue to discover his amazing talent and wonderful soul.
The more you get to know about him, the more you want to learn. There really is something special about this person, or I wouldn't keep
hearing about people who find out about him, young or old, who are so inspired by his playing, dedication and personality.
And to top it all, his shy, humble and gentle nature
continues to reach into the hearts of people and take a strong hold to this day. I read a post from 'Smirnoff' on the Randy Rhoads message board which struck a chord with me. "He wasn't a big speaker, but when he plugged in, he opened up like a BIG box of gold."

I created this video to pay tribute to Randy. Click on the picture below.

You only have to read a few articles from people who knew him, to realize he was no ordinary 'heavy metal' guitarist. Sharon Osbourne: "He was an old soul. When you met Randy he was incredibly knowledgeable, he had that inner peace, he had a strength with him that a mature man would have, yet he was in his early twenties." Joe Elliot (Def Leppard): "He was great Randy was.
He was a really nice guy. Dead quiet. He used to have a guitar lesson in every town, it was really weird. He never burst into big conversation but it wasn't out of rudeness or anything... he was such a nice guy." Ozzy Osbourne: "He was the only musician, in the sense of musician, that I've ever had the honour to work with. He was the first person that came into my life and gave me hope. And on that day that he died, a part of me died with him. He was a very, very special person. Very special. I like to think that he was too good for this world." Inspirations-The Randy Rhoads Legacy.

His influence has been felt worldwide. Any rock guitar player worth his salt has listened to, and been inspired by Randy. He first inspired people by teaching guitar at his Mother's school.
A replica business card signed by Randy's Mom Delores, his sister Kathy, brother Kelle and Randy's best friend from Quiet Riot Kelly Garni. He taught all day before going to rehersals or playing gigs with his band Quiet Riot.
After a while, guys used to turn up to the gigs with the same haircut as Randy and wearing his trade mark polka dot waistcoat and bow tie. He was the person the girls wanted to be with and the guys wanted to be like.
